Accordingly, Mt. Rock Worship Center (MRWC) has developed a Facilities Use Policy that enables us to share our facilities with our community, while at the same time being good stewards of the building, grounds and church resources.\u00a0 This policy therefore outlines who may use the facility, rules for use of the facility, and fees and deposits for building use.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nA.\u00a0 GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t1.\tWho may use the Facilities?\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t\tThe MRWC facilities will be made available for a nominal fee of $25 for groups or individuals who are members of the MRWC congregations, its affiliated conference, and other functions as approved by the leadership.\u00a0 Additional donations are accepted and appreciated and will go toward operating expenses.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t\tThe MRWC facilities will be made available to other groups, individuals, or organizations as available and at the rates listed in Section D, or as negotiated.\u2028<br \/>\n\t\tOfficial church services and ministries of MRWC shall have first priority in the use of the facilities.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t\tThe Church facility may be booked for Christian weddings between a man and a woman and wedding receptions. All weddings shall be approved by the pastoral staff.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t\tThe Church facility may be booked for Christian quinceaneras . All quinceaneras shall be approved by the pastoral staff.\u00a0\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t2.\tUnscheduled use of the facility is available only to active MRWC people on a first-come, first-serve basis.\u00a0 An attitude of consideration for others waiting to use the facility should be foremost in instances of spontaneous use.\u00a0 In addition, unscheduled use should not go beyond the time that a scheduled use (as listed on the calendar posted in the church office) is to begin.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t3.\tA responsible member of the church at least 18 years of age must be present during any use of the building, or this responsibility may be accepted by an agent of the organization utilizing the building who agrees to accept this responsibility.\u00a0 The agent will provide the church office with a phone number.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t4.\tThe organization or individual using the Mt. Rock facilities bears full financial responsibility for any expenses incurred, including any licenses, permits or taxes required by any governmental body.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t5.\tThe organization or individual using the Mt. Rock facilities shall not reserve the facility for another organization or individual nor assign their rights to another organization or individual after approved by the Elder Team.\u00a0 Any such reassignment voids this agreement.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t6.\tThe organization using the Mt. Rock facilities shall assume full responsibility for the proper care and use of the church properties.\u00a0 Any articles broken or missing must be repaired or replaced by the user organization.\u00a0 Any damage to church property which exceeds normal wear and tear will be repaired by the Board of Trustees at the expense of the organization.\u00a0\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t7.\tMRWC shall not be held responsible for any injuries or accidents occurring in the facility or elsewhere on the premises, absent a binding determination of gross negligence or recklessness.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t8.\tMRWC shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen personal property of any person.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t9.\tScenery may not be attached to the floors or walls by means of screws, nails, etc.; masking tape (not scotch tape) is permitted.\u00a0 All scenery must be removed from the building immediately after use is completed.\u00a0 Helium filled balloons are not permitted.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t10.\tAll trash and consumables shall be removed from the premises and deposited in the dumpster immediately following the use of the facilities.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t11.\tMRWC is not responsible for providing equipment and consumable supplies for functions held in the facility, except as agreed upon in the application.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t12.\tAll tables, chairs and equipment shall be set up by organizations utilizing facilities under the supervision of a church representative and shall be returned to the designated storage areas following use.\u00a0 A dry mop shall then be used on the floor.\u00a0 If food or drink is served, the floor is then to be wet mopped.\u00a0 Mops and cleaning supplies are kept in the janitorial closet.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t13.\tAudio-visual equipment, musical instruments or other special equipment on the MRWC premises may not be used or adjusted except by properly trained persons IF AVAILABLE as assigned by the Church at the User\u2019s expense in accordance with the Facility Use Fee Schedule.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t14.\tBasketball equipment or volleyball equipment shall not be moved or removed.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t15.\tNon-marking sneakers must be worn to participate in athletic activities in the gym.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t16.\tAn authorized \u201ckey person\u201d must be available to unlock and lock the facilities and to conduct a before and after walkthrough to assess the facilities for cleanliness and damage.\u00a0 Groups or individuals not a part of MRWC will have a Key Person assigned to their function and will be provided with appropriate contact information in the event of emergencies.\u00a0\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t17.\tAny use of Kitchen or kitchen appliances or equipment must be in accordance with the Church\u2019s \u201cKitchen Use Policy\u201d available from the church office.\u00a0 When food or beverages are served, regardless of whether Church kitchen appliances or equipment are used, the user shall be fully responsible for compliance with all food health and safety requirements and procedures. The Church shall not be held responsible for any sickness which occurs as a result of food served in the facility or elsewhere on the premises.\u00a0\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t18.\tSafety and fire codes must be obeyed at all times. Doorways, hallways and access ways must not be blocked. Any fines or penalties levied for any violation will be the responsibility of the users.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\nB.\u00a0 CODE OF CONDUCT<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t1.\tNo smoking, alcoholic beverages, drugs, profanity, immoral or illegal conduct, firearms, explosives, gaming or gambling activities will be permitted on the grounds or in the church buildings.\u00a0 (NOTE: The enforcement of this regulation is the responsibility of those using the facilities or person designated in Section A #3.)\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t2.\tParents or legal guardians shall be responsible to supervise minors at all times while on church property.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t3.\tRoller blades will not be allowed inside the facilities.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t4.\tMultiple groups may be using the facility at the same time. We would ask that all groups be respectful and helpful to one another. If a problem should arise, please contact one of the pastoral staff to discuss the matter further.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\nC.\u00a0 SCHEDULING<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t1.\tUse of the MRWC facility will be scheduled with the MRWC Office or Worship Center Board through submission of a \u201cFacility Use Request\/Agreement\u201d form, or through negotiation of a Partnership Covenant and License Agreement.\u00a0\u00a0\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t2.\tAll applications are reviewed by the MRWC Board. A copy of the master calendar is maintained online. The requested space will NOT be reserved until the application has been approved and the event fee has been received. Failure to do so may result in another group being scheduled for the time and date requested. Non-members and other organizations must pre-pay for building use according to the fee schedule in Section D.\u2028<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\t3.\tAny proposed use of the building and grounds for purposes that are contrary to the word of God as found in the Bible shall be prohibited. All programs and activities carried out on Church premises must be consistent with our Articles of Faith and Doctrine and Values of the Brethren in Christ Church, as determined by the Church in its sole discretion.\u00a0 All commercial use requests are subject to prior review to ensure that events, activities, and products and services sold are in line with the mission of MRWC and the Brethren in Christ.
